I am Joanna Deepika J, 23 years old- An entrepreneur, crafter and event stylist in the city. "Wired Expressions", my business- started off as a hobby just when I was passing out of school. I love crafting, given anything I will put my heart, mind and soul to upcycle it into something beautiful.
Aptly chose the brand, "Wired Expressions"- because till date I am a person who loves venturing out and trying new stuff... Wired expressions consists of a variety of art forms workshops, upcycling, jewelry making, event planning, party props etc. Through these many little things, I express various feelings.
I am a commerce student. Marketing has always been a part of me. This was a dream even before I passed out if school. Working under a boss is the worst thing I can think of.
There have been many challenges. I cannot deny that. There were times when I felt I should destash all my craft supplies and just do something else. On the other hand, I cannot explain the amount of joy I feel to see strangers turning into such loyal clients coming back to me time and again for their needs. Major drawback that I suffer is, since I am not good at conversing in local language, it becomes hard to tackle and deal with the suppliers at the wholesale market.
My family has always been supportive of everything I've done. Since I took to music, years ago, they thought I'd become a musician. But now, since Wired Expressions is what I do and has become a part of me, they support and wish to see me aspiring into one of the most successful entrepreneurs. They've always said one thing , "strive hard to do whatever you want and give it your best. That should give you satisfaction".
The best decision made so far was that I took to event management, And I wouldn't have it any other way! With having completed more than 350 events, my heart is Soo full to have expanded my business family with some of the best clients at mind and heart. Appreciations, feedbacks and endless support come back day in and day out applauding me for the work I continue to do. I have styled various weddings, house warmings, naming ceremonies, graduations, product launches, house parties, anniversaries, holy Communions, baptism, retirement parties, farewell and birthday parties etc.
The only “yes” you need to follow your dreams is yours. You’ll regret it later in life, and if you're delaying it, you’ll question yourself why didn’t you do it sooner. Not following your dreams makes you feel unaccomplished. Eventually, this will stop you from dreaming altogether. It will attract some attention, even from the naysayers and haters. You will feel strong as you prove the naysayers wrong. Walter said ,The great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do. People who follow their dreams are doers. Following your dreams might take unexpected turns, but those are the interesting and memorable challenges of living the dream.
I'd like to quote a famous saying that keeps me going everyday, especially when I feel low.
"When you reach an obstacle, turn it into an opportunity. You have the choice. You can overcome and be a winner, or you can allow it to overcome you and be a loser. The choice is yours and yours alone. Refuse to throw in the towel. Go that extra mile that failures refuse to travel. It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure!"
